Business and Pleasure

On occasions, my husband takes overnight business trips. To prevent loneliness, he often invites me to go along with him. Whenever I discover what city we will be visiting, I immediately start researching it. For instance, I map out landmarks we’ve never seen, restaurants with good reviews, entertainment options, and hotels that look appealing. By the time we get in the car, board the plane, or get on the train, every minute of our trip is already planned out. If your spouse travels frequently for work, consider mixing business with pleasure from time to time. On this blog, you will discover how to make the most of an upcoming business trip.

Tips For Packing When Travelling To Ghana

Delores Tucker

If you have decided to take a trip to Ghana for vacation, you are likely going to be going outside of your element. You might not know what to expect, which means that you aren't going to know what to pack. Here are some crucial items that you should make sure to pack in order to ensure that your trip is as smooth and as enjoyable as possible.

1. Medium to Dark Clothing

It is not a good idea to bring white or very light clothing to Ghana due to the fact that it is very dusty. You likely do not want to be spending the majority of your trip washing your clothes. White clothes will pick up the free-floating dust in the air and will become dirty more quickly. Medium to dark clothing will help hide this dust better and will allow you to avoid having to do laundry as often.

2. Items for Tips

One common practice is to tip with an item, rather than in cash. Because traveler's checks tend to be difficult to use in Ghana, you will need all of the cash that you bring. You likely don't want to bring extra to worry about tipping at your hotel. Old clothes that have logos on them, stationary, flash drives, and bandanas tend to have a high resale value and can be used as tips for good service. When you are at a restaurant, it will be difficult to bring additional items in, so if you want to tip, consider using cash instead in these situations.

3. Undershirts

You are going to be sweating a lot because you will likely be active when the day is still hot. Be sure that you bring undershirts to wear underneath your clothes to soak up some of the sweat and keep you from looking disheveled too early in the day.

4. Comfortable Walking Sandals

It is likely going to be too hot for you to wear shoes comfortably. Be sure that you bring a pair or two of sandals that are very comfortable to walk in for longer periods of time. This will allow you to navigate the area without having to worry about blisters.

5. Malaria Tablets

Finally, it is recommended by many travel agencies and doctors that you bring malaria tablets and take them regularly while you are travelling through Ghana.
